So two weeks ago, we all watched each others ted talks. It was a great few days were as a class, we watched some great presentations, some good presentations, and then just presentations. I hope my own presentation fits into one of the first two categories. Unfortunately I missed Friday's presentations, which kind of sucks because 1. I heard some of the presentations were really good and 2. I spent all Friday doing data entry for a robotics competition that we ended up losing. and the best part was, we never got a chance to use the data because we didn't place high enough.

I felt like I had good eye contact, and had good volume, but I spoke really fast. When practicing, I was finishing around at the 5:20 minute mark, so I cut a few paragraphs and got my time down to 4:40.

When actually presenting, I was really nervous and started to speak quickly. I stopped pausing after jokes, and taking pauses for emphasis, and I ended up skipping a sentence all together. According to my semi-reliable timekeeper Kalle, I got a final time of about 4:15 minutes.

I defiantly could have done better with my presentation but I'm glad I didn't do worse. I do plan on continuing my, as I put it "semi-frequent visits to the gym" over the summer. I got a job as a lifeguard at this gym like place called lifetime athletics, and I have access to the gym, so hopefully I can spend about an hour before or after my shift at the gym.

I really enjoyed working on this project. I thought it was a fun use of time, and I am happy I got the opportunity to revisit one of my interests, and continue pursuing it in the future

  1. Hi Ethan, I wish I saw your presentation! What was the overall message of your talk? It is good you felt confident with it though! Hopefully you stick to going to those occasional gym trips and maybe it will turn into a routine. Good luck in the future!

  2. Hey Ethan! I think your TED Talk went really well and definitely stood out. After an exciting week of spring break and many other presentations, I still remember your entertaining stalkerish-picture-taking presentation!!! As an audience member, I wasn't really focused on your presentation skills, but more of the content and message of your TED talk. Maybe that is something to reflect on as well and to think about for future presentations. Anyway, great presentation and good luck with your summer plans!
